So...Much...Fun!

2024-10-06

This week was packed with activity, and I have so many pictures. Let's get started!

Monday

Picking up from last week, I was still at Grandma Wynne and Grandpa Al's. Mom and Dad drove over and Grandpa Al gave them a ride downtown to the clinic for Mom's appointments - much easier than finding a place to park. When that was all done, we met Kara at IKEA. We just returned some things we decided we didn't need after our last trip, and we also brought some toys I am done with to donate to Kara's church so some other kids can have fun with them. And since we were right by the mall....

At the mall with Kara.

Of course we went to the LEGO Store.

The helmets are back.

And since it was on the way home (sort of) we stopped at a BAM and I finally bought Mon Mothma (unlike the last three times when I looked, and thought about it, but didn't buy) and Cad Bane's speeder (just the model, no minifigs). It was very quiet compared to other times we have been there.

Checking out the original AT-TE.

Wednesday

We met our friends at one of the local orchards - the one we used to go every fall. Sydney, Jonathan, Annika, and Kellan all came for some fun.

Kelly and Sydney at the duck pond.

Sydney and Jonathan in the corn pit.

Mom was a little cold, so she borrowed my hoodie.

On the pedal tractors. These are newer, bigger ones than what I used to ride.

Things got a little rowdy on the tractors and we had a little crash...so the Moms decided that was a good time to go home.

Here I am with the big apple.

Remember this?

Me and Sawyer.

Here I am on one of the older pedal tractors.

Friday

For part of school today we did the Cemetery Walk put on by the local historical society. We were in the same group with Jonathan. I do love a guided tour!

This is the grave for the only Revolutionary War soldier buried in our state. He was at Fort Ticonderoga, where we were last year on our American History Tour.

One of the presenters asked about the War for Independence, which I was able to answer in part because of our trip last year. We were also in Lexington and Concord where it started on April 19th, 1775, and at Yorktown where the fighting mostly stopped and Cornwallis surrendered on October 19th, 1781. And I knew that the Treaty of Paris on September 3rd, 1783 was the official end of the war (sadly, we have not gone to Paris...yet!).

We also did this activity two years ago. I was a little shorter. So was Jonathan. They talked about polio that time...which was a little scary.

I have a question.

Saturday

In the morning I worked on some new LEGO projects.

Obi-Wan and the 212th versus the Separatists.

In the afternoon we went to Anthony's birthday party. It was at the bowling alley where I had my birthday back in 2020. We had a blast bowling, playing arcade games, and doing laser tag!

In the party room with Anthony.

Time to bowl!

Anthony had the best day on the lanes - he got three strikes!

Mom demonstrating good form.

Anthony won! He beat Dad by two points!

Hitting the arcade for some skeeball!

And basketball.

Playing Batman with Anthony.

A pirate game!

Anthony shooting aliens - we all took a turn with him on this one.

Plants versus Zombies.

Time for Laser Tag!

The last time I played laser tag.

Mom got the high score.

Anthony shooting aliens with his Mom.

I got the high score for skeeball!

Mom and Dad played this one a lot - Dad won 3,000 tickets on it!

We gave all the tickets to the birthday boy - so he got to pick out some big prizes: the blow gun, a Minecraft Nerf Hammer, and a tabletop pool table.

Sunday

In the morning, I worked on some more LEGO projects.

The Republic chasing the bounty hunters who abducted Chancellor Palpatine!

Making use of some of our recent pick-a-brick finds to make the ships appear to fly.

A better look at the speeder.

Now the speeder has been hit and is crashing!

Mace Windu and some clones arresting the bounty hunters.

And then there was another birthday party, this one for Bingham!

The birthday theme was Nerf guns and lightsabers.

Jonathan is ready for action.

Just some boys...looking for trouble.

Mac and cheese pizza?! Oh, yeah!

Opening presents. We got him the LEGO X-Wing Mech.

Cupcakes, too!

Bingham's mom with...Darth Baby, it looks like.

And just for something different, Dad's strawberry plants are doing well. We should have even more strawberries next summer!

I think you'll agree that was quite enough for one week. I mean, I also did school all week with Mom on top of all the things we had pictures of, and Dad and I learned about Kant, Hegel, and Kierkegaard in Sophie's World.

Take care!
