This week we did all the normal school stuff, and we had a couple of food labs. Not much else was going on.
Food Lab: Brownies
Buttering the pans
Cracking the eggs
Waiting for the chocolate to melt.
Scooping the batter
Sorry, we did not get any pictures of the finished product, but they looked good and tasted better - trust me.
Food Lab: Potato Leek Soup
Cleaning the leeks.
Slicing the leeks
Chopping the leeks.
Soup in progress.
Adding some kale.
And once again, no pictures of the finished soup, but that would not be very exciting anyway. It did taste really good, especially paired with some fresh sourdough bread.
And here are Mom's puzzles for the week:
This week in reading, I was still working on Henry V by Dan Jones, and Dad and I finished To Kill A Mockingbird, which was great. I can see why everyone reads it.
For watching this week, we had the documentary Shock Doctrine, and we watched Anthony Bourdain visit South Africa in Parts Unknown. The rest of the week we watched Battlestar Galactica, a couple of episodes of Big Bang Theory, and the season premiere of Ghosts.
And that was my week. Take care!
