Goodbye, 2023!

2023-12-31

We spent the last days of 2023 at home, watching Star Trek: The Next Generation and playing with LEGO. We also did an extra Recess to see Jonathan, Billy, and Bingham. What a great way to finish the year!

Found some ice! A rarity this year.

Dad and I went to buy some new shelves...because we are out of space for LEGO. Attentive readers may recall that this is not the first time this year we have had a carful of shelves from IKEA.

A full car.

And since we were in the area, we went to the new Bricks and Minfigs store. One of the guys working there was a big fan of Ninjago and Clone Wars, so I had a good time talking to him. We also bought some new figures and a used set from Freemakers. Thanks for the gift card Kara, Josh, and Freya!

The black and red one is the one I bought.

Mom made cinnamon rolls this week. And carmel rolls.

After we built the shelves, we started moving some LEGO upstairs!

That's Abe Lincoln with George Washington. We got Abe this week, and Washington on our trip out East. I printed a copy of the Gettysburg Address to go with Abe.

Dad found one of my jokes while cleaning up: Sand People in a boat!

And we finished out the year doing some stuff around the house - rearranging LEGO, mostly, but some shoveling and more shelf building. Nice and quiet.

It snowed! But not much. And then it all melted.

Dad built this ugly shelf in the garage out of scraps we had piled up. It's not much to look at but it works.

And that is all for the week and all for 2023! Take care! Happy New Year!
