Today we started in Wisconsin. Lots of good choices for free breakfast, and it was another beautiful day. We were in Michigan for most of the day, driving along the lake.
First hotel breakfast! Pancakes and waffles!
Back in the car.
We saw this cool car on the road.
Our first stop was the Manistique Lighthouse. It was really windy. Mom and I stayed on the beach, but Dad walked out to see the lighthouse, dodging waves that crashed over the walkway.
Checking out the story of the lighthouse.
Dad on his walk.
On the beach.
Watching Dad.
The lighthouse up close.
Mom, and me in the distance.
Dad made it back!
I made a poor choice and walked into the water with my shoes on...that made a bit of a mess.
From the lighthouse we drove to the Mackinac Bridge. It was huge! And so high up! It was really fun to go across it.
On the bridge!
There wasa ship headed toward us.
At the park on the south side of the bridge.
We had a picnic there.
We learned about the history of the area.
The old lighthouse looks like a castle!
We learned about the lighthouse as well.
It was a beautiful day!
I threw a rock into Lake Huron - my third Great Lake.
Under the bridge.
Then we had a very long afternoon in the car driving south to get to our hotel. Mom surpised me by taking me to another Bricks and Minifigs store, this one was in Utica, Michigan.
A custom Sandcrawler model.
From there we went to the hotel. Tonight's accomodations are not as nice as last night, so it was a little less exciting to be in a hotel. It was good to get out of the car, though.
And that was Day 2 of the trip. Thanks for reading!
