This week was eventful. I got my first COVID shot on Wednesday - one of the first kids in town to get one. We walked in and no one was there, so it only took about 20 minutes if you count the 15 we had to wait after the shot. I had no side effects at all - wasn't even sleepy. And we went to DQ for a Blizzard afterward.
I got my shot.
Happy it's over.
Enjoying my ice cream treat.
We also did school. I was learning about Chinese dynasties and the Holy Roman Empire this week. And I started reading my new book about the Korean War.
Watching a video on Chinese history for school.
Reading to Dad.
Friday was the big day: time for the cast to come off. My leg was healed, and they noticed that I had broken my leg in a second place - they could see the remodeling on the bone in the x-ray on Friday. Both are healed, though.
Waiting to get the cast off.
Time for the saw...I was a little nervous.
My leg!
This feels weird....
Walking has been tough since I got the cast off, but I am working at it a little each day. My leg doesn't seem to remember what it is supposed to do. But life goes on and I am still using the wheelchair for now.
Saturday morning I did some school work to catch up on what I missed Friday while I was getting my cast off.
Working on a science experiment.
Sunday was a quiet day at home. I watched cartoons, made some maps, and played with some toys. Mom and Dad did a puzzle.
The puzzle Mom and Dad did.
That was about it for the week. Take care!
