Getting Back on My Feet

2021-11-14

The cast is gone, as you saw last week, but getting back to walking was not easy. I was still using the wheelchair a lot during the week - until Friday, when Mom and Dad took it away. And now I am walking all over the house again.

Mom and Dad had an appointment on Monday, so Grandpa Al and Grandma Wynne came over to stay with me, since I was still not steady on my feet. They brought Loki. We stayed outside since the weather was so nice. And I spent the whole time lecturing them about history - especially the Vikings.

Class is in session!

Mom and Dad were trying to encourage me to walk, and the thing that made the most difference was being able to get down to the basement to see my LEGO city. That was the turning point - because I really wanted to be able to get downstairs whenever I wanted.

Back in the LEGO room.

Happy to have the use of both my legs again.

Otherwise, we did school during the week. On Thursday night we watched the new Clifford movie, which was very funny. Dad needed to do some shopping on Saturday, so I got to see Loki again for a little bit. We didn't stay long because we wanted to make it home before the snow. And on Sunday we all did our own things - mostly I wrote down the names of different kingdoms, emperors, and dynasties.

That was my week! Be careful out there - lots of people are getting sick again. Too many.

Take care.
