Most of this week was pretty normal - finishing up school with Mom and Dad, going for bike rides, and playing with LEGO. We had recess one day, with Jonathan at the creek. And I had an orthodontist appointment - probably going to get my braces off by the end of the year! We also delivered some rhubarb treats to GG and Grandpa Kevin. But the big excitement was on Sunday: we went to the amusement park with Freya and Josh. Mom came along, but she went to see Great-grandma Muriel while we were going on rides.
At recess with Jonathan.
My new LEGO project.
Sunday was a nice day to go on some rides - not hot, and a cool breeze.
In a hurry to get to the next ride!
Hanging upside down at the top.
Riding Excalibur!
That was fun!
I went on this one because it looks like the ride from The Sandlot where the boys get sick...
Freya and I did not throw up.
Taking a relaxing train ride.
Lunch time - we aren't paying $10 for a slice of pizza.
Waiting for the splash.
We did this a few times.
We got a little bit wet.
We all went on Excalibur this time. Except Dad.
After the park we went to see Zelda for a little bit. I passed up going to BAM, IKEA, and the LEGO Store to see the puppy.
Zelda!
Our trip home was uneventful. We listened to The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn on the drive, just as we did on the way up. When we were getting close to home here was a long digression in book where Huck was describing all the things in the house where he was staying after he got separated from Jim, and we were laughing about how ridiculous and boring it was, so once that chapter ended we needed a break. Tom Sawyer was much more concise.
We had supper, watched Big Bang Theory and then Dad and I played with LEGO until bedtime, working on my castle.
The sun coming through the basement window lit up my Middle Earth battle.
In other news, this week I was still reading Anna of Byzantium for school, but I have also been reading some of my Nathan Hale books for fun. Dad and I finished reading Civil Disobedience and started Life Without Principle, both by Thoreau. And we spent the week watching all of the Indiana Jones movies, one per night, Monday through Friday. We all agree that Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is our favorite.
And that was my week! Take care!
