We had a lot going on this week. We had school, and we met Jonathan at the park, Mom was baking and decorating cookies for the funeral on Saturday, I was working on some LEGO projects, and of course Star Wars day was coming up - May 4th, if you didn't know.
This week we will start with the most important event first, the funeral for Great-grandpa Les, who passed away on November 12th, 2024 at the age of 99. The link goes to the memorial page for him, which includes the interview I did with him on Veteran's Day 2020. (If you want to see the interview I did with Muriel, it is here (just scroll down).
Mom and Kara's favorite picture of Great-grandpa Les.
The service was at the church Les and his family attended, and where GG went as a girl. Kara sang a song and gave the sermon, and Freya did a reading. Then we all went out on the lawn for the Honor Guard to perform the military honors ceremony.

The ceremony - the rifle salute, Taps, and the presentation of the flag to Great-grandma Muriel.

There was a short service at the cemetery, and then Gary and Bruce took care of placing the ashes in the ground and covering them with earth.
From the cemetery we went to the reception to visit...and of course take some pictures.

We left from the reception to drive home - it is a long drive. Thankfully the weather was good and traffic was light - we made good time.
As for the rest of the week...
We met Jonathan at the park now that we finally had a not-rainy, not-cold, not-windy day.
Jonathan is under the helmet.
I had a visit with the orthodontist to adjust my braces.
Hanging out with Mom.
And now for the LEGO portion of the blog:
Still working on my Yavin-4 display.
The Freemakers are fixing a Y-wing.
Some Ewoks on the bunker.
Most of the Ghost crew.
The Ghost.
Cassian and Luthen leaving the bunker. Jyn Erso is talking to Lando.
Then I decided to add some trees around the bunker.
And a perimeter of lights around the landing zone, as well as a communications tower.
Chirrut Imwe and Baze Malbus walking through.
And a new BAM opened up, so we stopped by to see what they had.
A custom Quadjumper.
An ugly - a TIE cockpit with Y-wing engines.
An Amelia Earhart set - we bought this one.
I made some display cases for my Pirates of the Caribbean figures.
I had to make a lot of cases....
In other news, I am almost finished reading the Poppy series by Avi, Dad and I went on some bike rides when the weather was decent, and we watched a lot of Big Bang Theory. Mom and Dad spent Sunday watching Andor season one so we can all start watching season two together.
And that was my week. I think next week should have a little less activity. Which would be good - we still need to finish sorting LEGO, but the end is in sight.
Take care!
And may the Force be with you!
