We Now Resume "Normal" Programming

2025-01-12

Back to school this week! But not totally...we did take a day off on Wednesday and went to have some fun. We got Dad his first new computer since 2011, we made our annual trip to IKEA to buy shelves (I also got a new chair), and since we were in the neighborhood we may have stopped at the LEGO Store. And Auntie Kara met us at the mall with the "world's best cinnamon rolls." For the record, the rolls were excellent, but for our family the Silver Grill Cafe in Fort Collins is the winner of this particular accolade - we were there in 2017. Oh, and Mom cleaned up all the LEGO we picked last Sunday - she pulled apart a lot of tightly packed bricks and even washed them!

All clean and ready for building.

Dad's turn at the Apple Store.

Cinnamon rolls with Auntie Kara.

We stayed home this weekend. On Saturday I built my chair, with a little supervision from Dad.

I also worked on a LEGO project...a battle scene on Geonosis, from The Clone Wars.

The 501st versus the Sepratists.

And here are a few updates to my castle display. I added a wall and a gate.

Chia Grogu is doing well.

Sunday we had a dusting of snow - easy enough to clean up.

And I worked on another LEGO project with a similar theme as yesterday's.

Preparing to attack the droid factory.

Droids marching out to protect the installation.

The 501st is on the move!

We resumed watching Dark Matter and Ted Lasso, and we kept reading Project Hail Mary. On my own, I finished The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi, and I started one of Dad's favorite books when he was a kid, Tunnel in the Sky by Robert Heinlein. And on Sunday night, we watched His Girl Friday, which was really funny.

And that was my week. Take care!
