This was my last week of school for the year. And it was a short one. We did learning on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I had Tuesday and Friday off. And some other things were going on this week....
You know what this means...
Mom's making Christmas cookies!
Tuesday morning I went to see the orthodontist. I was only supposed to have my wire changed, but the one tooth that had not come down when I got the braces on was now far enough along that Dr. Brandon added a bracket to the tooth and is making me wear rubber bands to help pull it into place.
While we were in town, we went over to Grandma Wynne and Grandpa Al's. Mom's present to them this year was to reorganize their pantry. She bought containers and shelves and racks and labels and fixed it all up in a few hours. I went with Dad and Grandpa to Bricks and Minifigs to "stay out of the way."
The reorganized pantry.
Everything labeled and sorted.
We saw some cool Christmas lights this week. This was my favorite:
I don't know what's more interesting: the lights on this thing, or that it's a golf cart with a snow plow.
Dad delivered treats to both sets of Grandparents this week, once Mom was done baking them. And I had some shoveling to do - we got six inches of snow! I went out three times: twice to shovel, and once to use the snow blower to get the end of the driveway after the plow went by.
Grandpa went right after his Christmas cookies!
Snow!
More snow!
I'm done shoveling for the day.
Now this is more like it...
Mom was busy baking for Christmas. She made raspberry thumbprints, iced almond sugar cookies, almond cake, crinkle cookies, wreaths, and pecan tassies. Yum! There may even be some left over for Christmas....
Dad got called into the kitchen to help out.
On Sunday I met up with Jonathan to do some sledding. Last year we hardly got to go, so we can't waste an opportunity.
First time sledding this year!
Jonathan came out for some fun!
One of our many experimental arrangements.
And another.
In other news, we finished The Office this week. And we watched Dead Poet's Society. I finished The One and Only Ivan and read Pippi Longstocking. Dad and I continued to read Project Hail Mary - which is so good. Very funny and exciting.
And that was my week - take care!
