On Monday I turned 13! Mom and I took the day off school, and Dad took the day off work. Mom made some cinnamon rolls for me, and later we had pizza and ice cream cake!
Mmmm...fresh out of the oven!
Here's the LEGO project Dad was working on - a tavern for the medieval town.
I built my own pirate ship.
Later in the afternoon, a package arrived from Kara, Josh, and Freya.
It's a box!
What's in here?
Lots of packing stuff...
Cookies!
I see some wrapped things...
A battle pack!
The new Percy Jackson book!
Another battle pack!
The new Magnus Chase book!
In addition to what was in the box, I got some money to spend at the LEGO store or Bricks and Minifigs, and a season pass to the amusement park!
On Tuesday, Mom was supposed to go to a new dentist, but the dentist office texted just before we were going to leave that the person who was going to see Mom was sick. The other part of our plan for Tuesday was to pick up birthday presents from my grandparents and aunts and uncles. So we just did that part. We started at Grandpa Al and Grandma Wynne's house.
Before we left I put up some pictures of my dog pals.
Opening a present from Neil and Loki.
It's a recycling truck!
Avatar comics!
Yoda's starfighter!
More battle packs!
Loki needed some attention.
A card from David - with cash!
Auntie Diane got me a book by my favorite author!
Make that two books!
Wait...now there are three!
Dragon Prince books and comics!
Then we went over to GG and Grandpa Kevin's.
Looks like some more things to open.
Korra books to go with the Avatar comics!
The last of the battle packs I wanted!
Grandpa Kevin, GG, Max, and Abby.
We went home from GG and Grandpa Kevin's, and I got to work on some of my new LEGO sets and finding places for my books.
Wednesday was back to school and back to Recess. And we finally had some snow to play in! With the warmer weather, the snow was just right to pack and shape. I had a lot of fun with Nick and Jonathan at the park.
On Thursday I was listening to Bow and Blade, my favorite podcast, and Michael made a reference to one of the books I got for my birthday and I was able to find the part of the book he was talking about! It was so exciting. [Mom and Dad are proud of their little historian!]
We went sledding for Recess!
When we got home, there was a box of LEGO by the door! Atticus's dad brought them over, along with some LEGO books!
And now that all the presents have been unwrapped for Christmas and birthday...
The Wall of LEGO boxes!
The Table of Books!
Thanks again to everyone who was kind enough to get me a gift - I love them all! And all of you! Mom and Dad may have gone a bit overboard this year, though. If you don't want to count, there are 41 LEGO boxes in the first picture, and 22 books in the second picture. If you're curious, here is the wall from last year.
My Grand Army of the Galactic Republic.
The Empire.
The Viking Village.
The medieval town and castle.
Just for fun, I set the Republic army up a different way on Saturday.
And that is it for LEGO pictures this week. On Sunday I worked on a little Technic set. I had so much fun building the recycling truck Neil gave me that I wanted to try another one. I also watched some Pirates of the Caribbean and went for a walk with Dad. Of course, we all watched Star Trek in the evening.
Dad wanted to post a picture of his old laptop, that he bought just after I was born - it lasted 13 years! Most of the 718 posts of this blog were created on this computer, and it never had a problem until Saturday night when it just stopped working.
Farewell to a real workhorse.
And that was my week! Take care!
