Cold!

2024-01-21

It was cold this week! We did not have Recess. I did go over to Jonathan's one afternoon. We wore masks to be extra safe, and I had a lot of fun seeing all of Jonathan's new LEGO and the projects he has been working on. Mom and Caroline got to visit, too. Without having to sit in the cold.

Since my birthday is coming up, some presents started arriving. Mom and Dad decided not to make me wait to open the gift they got me...

What's in the box?

It's the Eldorado Fortress!

I got to work right away - building the ship first!

Dad came in to help build.

Dad bought some other LEGO sets, too, and we used the parts to make some alternate builds that we found on Rebrickable.com. Once they are done, I will have some pictures of my medieval town to share.

School was good this week. We worked from home again, since it was so cold. Dad still walked to work every day. He's stubborn like that. On Thursday Mom and I watched a senate hearing as part of school.

Watching some of the Senate hearing on Long COVID.

I earned all the tickets Mom has, so I had to turn them in.

As a surprise, I got Friday off of school to start my birthday weekend. I used my free time to watch Pirates of the Caribbean and play with the El Dorado Fortress and all my pirate LEGO.

On Saturday we started celebrating - with cookie cake! I also have an ice cream cake, but that is for my actual birthday.

My cookie cake!

This is how I blew out the candles.

The other big news this week is that Kara, Josh, and Freya are fostering a dog. Her name is Sophia and she seems really sweet. I am calling every day on FaceTime to see her.

This is Sophia.

I put her picture up on my wall.

And that was all for this week. Take care!
