Well, we had some excitement last night after Dad posted the blog. The hotel's fire alarm went off. We grabbed the important stuff and started downstairs...and then the alarm stopped. Dad went down to check it out, and apparently it was some kind of malfunction. The rest of the night passed without incident.
In the morning I had my last hotel breakfast on the last day of our trip.
Sad faces for the end of the trip.
We drove to our first stop, a Bricks and Minifigs store in Wheaton, Illinois. This one wasn't as exciting as some of the others, but I did get some more bucketheads (storm troopers) and some other figures. No pictures because Dad forgot to take some.
From Wheaton we headed toward Madison, stopping at the Biggest Culver's in the World for lunch.
Here it is. I'd say it's twice as big as any other Culver's I've been in.
After lunch we drove to another Bricks and Minifigs in a suburb of Madison. This store was much more creative in their displays, and the people working were happy to talk about LEGO with us. I bought some Hoth Rebel figures, a Musketeer, and a couple other figures. Mom and Dad bought me the Freemaker's ship, the Star Scavenger, along with the whole crew.
Dad remembered to take some pictures again.
Fake figure lock-up.
After buying my bricks, we were on our way. When we got to Sauk City, we stopped at the first Culver's for some ice cream.
We were at the biggest, and now at the first.
We also drove through the Dells. There were some fun buildings.
More nice fall colors.
There's the lock and dam - we are almost there....
Back in the right state!
We're home!
Maybe got a little too silly....
Imagine that - we still like each other after five weeks of being together all day every day!
The final stats: 5,314.2 miles, averaging 34.1 miles per gallon, and just under 148 hours of driving.
This is the last post for the trip, and we will resume the regular once-a-week schedule on Sunday.
Thanks for reading the past five weeks! Take care!
