This morning did not go as planned. Dad did not feel well, so he stayed the hotel while Mom and I went to Acadia National Park. By the time we got back he was good enough to drive, so we went on our way. He tested twice for COVID and both were negative.
On the trip to Acadia National Park, Mom let me navigate. That was fun. The park was amazing! So beautiful! Dad was really sorry he missed it. Anyway, Mom and I spent a couple hours there and we both want to come back again - we did not give the park enough time on this trip.
Down to the beach!
We found a crab.
Climbing the rocks.
Wandering the beach.
Throwing rocks!
I learned from my experience with wet feet on Lake Michigan a few days ago
We found some more people on the rocks.
Gazing out to sea....
Cool bridge.
Once we picked up Dad we headed to the Portland Head Light. We took Highway 1 most of the way, but we did join the interstate for a little while. It is hard to get around Maine, so we had to backtrack a while to be able to head south.
We went over this cool bridge again.
After a mostly pleasant drive on a beautiful day, we made it to Portland. The headlight was so amazing! I loved it.
The Portland Head Light.
The sea and the rocks by the headlight.
Here we are at the base.
Mom and I went into the museum - they had some cool artifacts from the history of the headlight.
I found a cannon.
One with me.
One last look.
From the Portland Headlight we powered our way to Boston (actually Woburn). This hotel is for the next five days! It will be so nice to not have to pack up every morning, and drag things in every night!
