Five More Weeks

2021-10-10

The big news this week is that I get to wear a cast for five weeks...and I got a wheelchair. It was a hectic week with being mostly immobile, so we don't have many good pictures, but here goes.

Playing at my desk - making the best of it.

Waiting to see the doctor.

The temp cast came off to get some x-rays.

Feeling nervous about getting a hard cast.

Building the hard cast.

I picked camo for the outside wrapping.

Waiting for the cast to fully set.

There was a problem getting the wheelchair, so we went out for lunch and ran some errands while the rental place sorted out the paperwork. One of the errands was getting me some bike riding gloves - which will be wheelchair gloves for a little while. Then the exciting part was Dad trying to get the wheelchair into the car - it barely fit.

Trying on some gloves - in the car, since we didn't have the chair yet.

Since we know I am going to be in the wheelchair, Mom and Dad rearranged my bedroom so I can get in and out on my own. Dad managed to get a picture of my stuffed animal collection as they were working, but forgot to take other pictures.

It's the stuffy train.

Then we made a trip to show off my cast. We saw Grandpa Al, Grandma Wynne, Uncle Neil, and Loki - and Uncle David and Uncle Bill showed up.

Enjoying the nice weather.

Me and Grandpa Al.

That was about it. We went back home and had a quiet Sunday. I spent some time in my room playing with my toys - Mom did a great job setting everything up so I can have fun even if I can't get down on the floor and play.

That was my week - take care, everyone!
