Whoa! What a Week!

2016-07-31

I finished out July with a really busy week. As you may recall, we left off last week at Kara and Josh's house because Mommy and Kara were going to a concert. Since we had the whole day to do whatever we wanted - Daddy and I went to the zoo!

Checking the map.

The Komodo Dragon climbed up on the tree.

Playing in the tunnel.

The Red Panda hanging out.

One of the butterflies in the Butterfly garden.

At the bird show.

This bird is named Gandalf.

This is Baron, a red-tailed hawk.

Playing in the water at the zoo.

Having fun getting wet.

Trying to make the water erupt like a volcano

Dancing with the water

Ah...ice cream. Just the thing after playing in the sun.

A second visit to the butterfly garden.

This is the one that landed on my hat. It was moly and didn't sit still long enough for Daddy to get a picture.

After all that fun, we went back to Kara and Josh's and had some supper and played with Freya. Mommy and Kara went to their concert, and we went to pick Mommy up when it was over. I was asleep for the drive over, but I woke up while we were waiting for Mommy and it took me a while to get back to sleep. Good thing it was such a long drive.

Mommy went to work Tuesday morning, so Daddy and I put her couch together.

Playing in the moly couch boxes.

We sure made a mess.

Under construction.

Henry the fixer, hard at work.

Righty tighty, lefty loosy; righty tighty, lefty loosy.

All done!

On Thursday Pelly and Tony were at the house when I woke up! Mommy and I went to work at the food shelf, then we went out for pizza with Daddy, Pelly, and Tony at lunchtime.

Hard at work.

Friday morning we went to visit my friends from my school - it was Bike Day! The school is in a new location while the regular building is being fixed, so we had a cool new place to ride. My friends were happy to see me and we had a lot of fun.

Riding at Bike Day!

Hydrating.

Talking to Ms. Cassie.

Saturday morning I went to work with Grandpa Al. We picked up two loads of milk from four different farms and the county fair. Then we went up to Great-grandma's tower, and then back to the fair to look around some more.

Me and Grandpa Al waiting for the truck to get loaded.

Even though it was only 9:30, Daddy and I shared a malt at the fair while the truck was loading.

Playing with Lucy, one fo the farm dogs I saw.

Getting a treat for Lucy.

Visiting with Great-grandma Dorothy, Auntie Diane, and Uncles Denny and Milton.

The helicopter we saw at the fair.

Watching the helicopter take off!

We spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's because Daddy was too tired to drive home. We went home Sunday morning and got to work in the garden weeding and pulling up the plants that were done growing for the season. We had so much to take to the compost site, Daddy had to transform the car into a dump truck.

The Mazda3 Dump Truck.

The big horse we saw at the compost site.

The horse that tried to kiss me while I was looking at the goats (she stuck her head into the car through the window).

The goats.

When we got back from composting, we ate the delicious lunch Mommy made with pesto made from basil we grew in our garden. Then Mommy made some ice cream we will get to try once it freezes, and Daddy and I built my new LEGO set. We went to the toy store to look for a different, much smaller toy, but when I saw this I was too excited to think about anything else. I was saving my allowance to buy it but I didn't have enough yet, so Mommy and Daddy loaned me the money. I'll have to do a lot of work to earn it all. And we were lucky, this set isn't even supposed to be out yet - we got it early!

My new LEGO airport.

The moly jet that was in it.

And that, my friends, was my week: totally stuffed with fun!

Until next time - take care!
