The Fair and Two Birthday Parties

2014-09-03

This post covers August 18th through August 24th.

On Monday Grandpa Al brought me home and stayed until bedtime. Then Daddy and I were on our own until Thursday night when we went back Grandpa Al and Grandma Wynne's house.

Friday morning we got up and went to Auntie Kara and Uncle Josh's house so we could go to the State Fair! We went with Mommy, GG, Freya, Kara and Josh and it was a lot of fun. I ate lots of interesting new things, played some games, and went on all kinds of rides.

Mommy, it's not working. Where are the keys?

Josh and Freya.

Me and Mommy - she thinks the music is too loud, that's why she has a stinky face on.

Freya trying some 1919 Root Beer.

Playing a game to win a giraffe.

I did it!

Learning skeeball from Mommy and Daddy.

Me with GG and Daddy in the horse barn.

I'm on a (fake) horse!

Nice (real) horsey.

At the all-you-can-drink milk stand, drinking as much as milk as I can - in my "got milk?" hat..

Riding the tractors.

On the slide with Daddy (I went with GG, too, but we only have video of that).

Riding the planes with GG. I think she's getting dizzy.

Popping a wheelie on the motorcycle!

Coming around again.

On the roller coaster with GG (we are in the first car, on the right).

Riding with Zachary, a little boy I met at the fair (we went on a lot of rides together).

In the bouncy cars.

Down the slide with Daddy again.

After the fair we went to a hotel to spend the night. GG and Great-grandpa Les and Great-grandma Muriel were in the hotel too - we all stayed there so we could go to Freya's first birthday party on Saturday morning. We also had visitors: Nancy, Dave, Michael, and Molly all came to see us for a while. Dave showed me some magic tricks with a 50ยข piece while everyone else was talking.

Bedtime at the hotel - I'm trying to sleep, Mommy.

Daddy says: "Stop taking pictures so we can go to sleep."

In the morning I had a free breakfast at the hotel: I had toast and a waffle and some eggs and milk and breakfast potatoes and a banana. I was stuffed. Daddy ate a lot, too. Before we left for Freya's first birthday party we drove over to a construction site and watched a big crane working, and then we stopped at the airport and watched the planes taking off. That was very exciting.

Waiting to go to Freya's party with GG and Great-grandpa Les.

At Auntie Kara's house, Daddy and I went for a walk with GG, and GG brought Bex and Lucy along so Kara and Mommy could finish getting the party ready. I played at the big playground by Josh and Kara's house until it was time to go back to for the party.

Uncle Ross, Great-grandma Joan and Great-grandpa Eldon came early, so I spent time visiting with them.

We ate lunch and then it was time for presents! Freya let me help open some presents after I asked nicely if I could.

After the party we helped clean up and then we had to go home. Actually, Daddy and I stayed with Grandma Wynne and Grandpa Al so we could go to another birthday party on Sunday. Mommy went back to our house because she had to work on Sunday morning.

Sunday was Great-grandma Dorothy's 92nd birthday party!

Uncle Denny has my new giraffe. And I want it back!

I kept myself entertained by rearranging the chairs. I probably moved about twenty chairs all over the room.

I made myself a crib!

Watching everyone else undo all my work.

Grandpa Al and Grandma Wynne drove us home after Great-grandma Dorothy's party. Mommy was home and I had some supper, took a bath, played for a bit, and went to bed. I needed a good night sleep to start preschool the next day.

That's all for now - take care everyone!
