Happy Birthday - To Me!

2013-01-27

Given how the past couple weeks have gone, my best birthday present was getting out of the hospital! But all the other presents I got were great, too! Thank you everyone for thinking of me!

By Tuesday morning my oxygen levels were good and my appetite was back and I was ready to get out of that room after five days and six nights of not being able to leave.

The morning of my release.

Mommy went to class, so it was just me, Daddy, and Sheldon hanging out in the room.

Playing with my balloons - the ones Grandma Gail got for me when I had my EEG a couple weeks ago.

Finally home!

Big hug for all my friends who waited for me.

I wasn't home long and there was a knock on the door. Who could it be?

Balloon delivery! For me!

Auntie Kara and Uncle Josh sent me some balloons!

More balloons!

Thanks Kara and Josh!

I also received a card from all my pals at school. Thanks everyone! I'll be glad to see you all again on Monday.

We were all sick of hospital food - so Mommy made us blueberry waffles! I think the picture tells you all you need to know about how much I love blueberry waffles.

Two-fisting the blueberry waffles!

Mommy and Daddy were volunteering at a film festival for the weekend, so I went to stay with Grandma Wynne and Grandpa Al. Uncle David and Auntie Diane came to see me, and so did Grandma Gail and Grandpa Kevin! Grandma Gail and Grandpa Kevin brought me some super cool presents - including a piggy bank that is a pig dressed as Batman.

Due to some inclement weather, Daddy came to get me Sunday morning, instead of Sunday afternoon. I slept all the way home and missed all the freezing rain and ice on the road. We had some lunch at the house and then went to the festival to see Mommy and look around.

I sat in a kayak that Daddy tried to win in a raffle. It was really neat.

This is awesome, Dad. I hope you win it.

I'm telling Daddy's friend Andrew all about these birds.

Relaxing at the festival.

Time to get back to work - putting on my all access pass.

Let's watch some movies!

And that was it for the week. That was enough, right? Here's hoping the next few weeks are boring and uneventful.

Thanks again to everyone for the birthday cards and presents, and the get well cards. I'm glad you were all understanding about my party being cancelled.

Until next week, take care everyone!
