Sick Before, But Feeling Better

2012-09-30

Hello everyone!

We were all sick this week. Daddy had something that lingered until Friday afternoon, when he finally kept his fever at bay for good. I was coughing and sneezing and having a snotty nose all week so I missed seeing Isaac and Anne at the zoo (we will try to see them next weekend), and going to Autumn's wedding. But I was starting to feel better Saturday and I slept almost fourteen hours on Saturday night/Sunday morning - and I was feeling pretty good. Still a little snotty, but mostly good. Mommy was sick the least - she just felt bad on Saturday afternoon.

Anyway, here are some pictures from the week that was:

Having a snack and watching out the window for trucks.

Monday night we went to see our neighbor play guitar and sing at a local bar. Here I am enjoying a pickle.

Yum. I like pickles.

Mommy really enjoyed her mushroom and swiss burger.

Hitting the dance floor...all by myself. That's Jim right behind me.

It had to happen eventually: I was getting ready to take a bath and someone pulled the camera out. Yeah, you know who you are. Guess what? I have a "No Nudity" clause in my contract.

This is a family blog, after all.

Here's a family picture we had taken at school so everyone will know what Mommy and Daddy belong to me.

After being trapped in the house on Friday because Daddy was sick, and on Saturday because Mommy wasn't feeling well, and in the hopes that I would sleep better in the car, we took a drive on Sunday. We even brought Duke. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed the fall colors and I fell asleep listening to them drone on and on about how pretty the trees were. Anyway, we ended up at a park south of home and went for a walk to get some fresh air on a beautiful fall day.

Daddy found a fuzzy thing on the ground and picked it up so no one would step on it.

Daddy said it's a banded woolly bear caterpillar and it will freeze over the winter and turn into a moth in the spring.

When we got home, Daddy looked up the caterpillar on the Internet and learned that it was a good thing I didn't touch it, since the bristles on the caterpillar can irritate sensitive skin. He also learned that some caterpillars are venomous, so we'll be careful not to touch any in the future until after we've identified them.

During our walk we had a nice view of the river from atop a bluff. Some nice people who were there took our picture.

Me with Mommy, Daddy, and Duke.

The nice people who took our picture had some food that looked interesting.

When Mommy and Daddy tried to take a picture of the couple who took our picture, I decided to try to get in the shot. Everyone thought that was funny, so I had my picture taken with them on their camera so they can have fun making up a story about why I am in a picture with them.

Me with my new friends.

Before we went home, we had lunch on a blanket in the grass by our car. That was fun. We saw some really neat motorcycles and talked to the riders for a little while.

Me and Mommy during our picnic.

I slept on the way home, so Mommy and Daddy got what they wanted: me taking two naps today.

That's about all the news. Remember, Daddy will be working for Uncle Bob for a couple of weeks, but this year we did some posts ahead of time so all of you will have something new to look at until we get back to our normal schedule - stay tuned for those posts the next two weekends.

Take care everyone!
