My First Christmas

2011-12-27

Hi everyone!

Sorry I was a little late getting the blog up this week - we just had so many pictures to get through. And last week was rather exhausting. But let's get to it!

First, Jenna came to vist me on her birthday! I didn't get her a present, but she still wanted to feed me.

Having lunch with Jenna.

On Wednesday, Mommy and Daddy woke me up at 4:00 AM and took me to a hospital so I could have an EEG test. For those of you who don't know yet, I've been having some episodes that may or may not be seizures. My doctors want to capture one of my episodes on an EEG so they can figure out what's happening in my brain.

A nice lady used a red pencil to mark up my head and then she glued a bunch of metal things on it and I had to sit still for I don't know how long. I didn't like any of those things - but the worst was getting the glue. Anyway, Daddy gave me a bottle when all the thingys were attached and with the lights turned low, I fell asleep. Then the lady woke me up by calling my name and flashing lights at me.

Really? Couldn't you let me sleep a little longer?

This is not how I wanted to spend my morning.

This is really not how I wanted to spend my morning. OUCH!

Yes, Mommy. Let's get a picture of this.

Unfortunately when we went to see the doctor later in the day, he said I didn't have one of my episodes while the EEG was going, so we'll have to do it again. Hurray.

While we were waiting for the results, Mommy and Daddy took me to a children's museum and I got to play on some cool stuff and I made a new friend.

There's my Daddy! I made it halfway through the tunnel before I had to be rescued.

Daddy helping me on the slide.

This tunnel was bigger and shorter. I made it all the way through.

Having fun!

"Welcome to Henry's. What'll ya have?"

Dad! Dad! Look!

Me and Daddy and Tigger.

Me with Milo, my new friend.

On Friday we went to see Mommy's family for Christmas.

Grandma Gail is reading me a story.

Refereeing a game of Hand and Foot with Great-grandma Muriel, Tabitha, Bruce, and Julia (that's the back of her head in the lower left corner).

Michael was happy to see me.

So was his mom.

Saturday was one long Christmas Bonanza. Great-grandma Joan had Christmas Eve brunch and Great-grandma Muriel had Christmas Eve supper.

So first we go to Great-grandma Joan and Great-grandpa Eldon's house.

(If you were at either of these events and you don't see yourself in the blog, the two most likely reasons are: the picture we got of you was really blurry or I wasn't looking my best so I decided to leave it out).

Me with Ross.

Me with Liza.

Me with Jesse.

Me with Angel.

Left to right: Daddy, Me, Liza, Jacob, and Kevin.

Showing Jacob some of the awesome features of my totally cool musical chair.

Okay. So I'm tired. There's no way I'm taking a nap, though.

"Jacob, stay focused! Ross said Great-grandpa Eldon hides his money in here!"

Daddy and Jacob.

Daddy with me and Jacob.

Opening presents with Great-grandma Joan.

Me with Auntie Kara.

Now you're getting the hang of it.

My descent of Mt. Ross, with Jacob behind me, and Great-grandpa Eldon, Angel, Josh, and Jesse cheering us on.

Me with Mommy and Mike.

And now for the second leg of the Christmas Marathon...

Me and Grandpa Kevin.

My feet! There you are!

I'm a happy boy!

Ooooh! Presents!

Stockings waiting to be filled. Grandma Gail sewed my name and Daddy's name on our LEGO stockings.

Grandpa Kevin giving me some Christmas antlers.

Are these all for me? (Actually they were White Elephant gifts)

Playing with the presents while Bruce, Julia, Tyler, Les, and Muriel watch.

I'm naked because it was too hot to stay in my special Christmas jammies Auntie Kara brought for me.

Me with Grandpa Kevin and Grandma Gail.

Me with Great-grandpa Les and Great-grandma Muriel.

These presents are mine? Yes? Excellent.

Okay if I help you with one of your presents Mommy?

This is my recycling truck. I liked it so much I let Mommy and Daddy open the rest of my presents.

Daddy is surprised - Mommy bought him a nice watch for Christmas (it didn't come in time, so she wrapped a picture of it for him to open).

The next morning the stockings were full of even more presents!

More presents to open!

My fat stocking.

Playing with my truck and Tyler.

Frankie seems to have noticed what I did in my pants.

Later that day we started on our way home. We stopped to see Great-grandma Darlene on the way, but Mommy and Daddy were apparently too tired to take any pictures. While we were there I saw Jennifer, Bob, Rhonda, Stevannah, Clint, Vincent, Yulia, Gunnar, Kayla, Will...and I think that's it. We didn't stay long because we still had two more hours to get home.

We stopped at Grandma Wynne and Grandpa Al's to pick up Duke, but Mommy and Daddy decided they needed a night off, so they left me and Duke there and went home on their own.

Even more presents!

Since I don't see the point in having a cliffhanger ending to the blog, Daddy came back to get me the next day, and I got to see Great-grandma Dorothy, John, and Bill before going the rest of the way home with Duke. We'll have those pictures next week.

Thank you! thank you! thank you! everyone for all the great presents. I promise to play with them all and read them all and wear them all, as the case may be. And if you gave me money, Mommy and Daddy are putting it in my bank account for some future fun (or education, which may or may not be fun).

Aside from my second EEG coming up after the first of the year, we are planning to stay home until after my birthday party. But stay tuned - some exciting stuff may still happen! My third tooth might finally poke its way out! And I'm sure we'll have some pictures of me drooling over Daddy's watch.

Take care everyone! Hope you had a safe and happy holiday! See you soon.
