Moving Grandma and Grandpa

2011-09-06

This week was a busy one.

Early in the week we were home.

I rolled myself up in the blanket again.

In the middle of the week Mommy was working at the other office again, so I went along for the ride and Daddy and I went to visit Great-grandma Dorothy.

Lemme go Great-grandma Dorothy! I want to crawl!

Or maybe I'll sleep. Giant baby asleep on Great-grandma's lap.

On Friday we went to see Great-grandma Muriel and Great-Grandpa Les. Grandma Gail and Grandpa Kevin have been staying with them and now they are moving to their own place - in the same town as Grandma Wynne and Grandpa Al!

Grandma Gail hadn't seen me for a while, and she was excited to feed me.

Open wide!

In addition to moving, we were also celebrating Great-Grandma Muriel's birthday - and I got to see Great-aunt Nancy for the first time.

Great-grandma Muriel and great-aunt Nancy watching mechew on my frozen bird.

Me with Nancy. She brought this cool chair for me to play with. It makes sounds and plays music and talks to me.

Really, Nancy? Do you have to be all smooshy when I'm having my picture taken?

Even though it was Great-grandma Muriel's birthday, I got a present too!

Opening my present from Great-grandpa Les.

What is it?

Great-grandpa Les gave me a dreamcatcher and a picture framed with wood from the family's original house in Minnesota.

Playing with cousin Michael.

How did Uncle Josh's watch get on my foot?

Having a chat with Great-grandpa Les while we were waiting for cake and ice cream.

Me with Mommy, Michael, and Great-grandma Muriel.

This was about the time we were all singing Happy Birthday to Great-grandma. If you don't know who all these people are by now, you obviously haven't been paying attention.

Me with Great-grandma and her birthday cake. Mommy and Daddy wouldn't let me have any, but I heard it was very tasty.

All the partying kept me up past my bedtime and I got a little cranky and wouldn't go to sleep.

The Eye-Rub: I'm tired.

But I still want to play!

We didn't take any pictures of the move - who wants to see pictures of sweaty people moving boxes? The trucks got loaded, driven across the state, and unloaded, all in one day. Whew!

While the moving crew was driving east, I went with Mommy and Auntie Kara to see Great-grandma Joan and Great-grandpa Eldon.

Visiting with Great-grandma Joan. She was very happy to see me.

And me with Great-grandpa Eldon. He was happy to see me, too.

Great-grandma Joan was happy to feed me as well.

On Sunday I went over to see Grandma Gail and Grandpa Kevin's place. I actually saw it before them when Daddy and I went to pick up the keys a few weeks ago. Daddy and Uncle Josh helped Grandpa Kevin move some furniture and then they returned the moving trucks.

Me and Abby. She's a tiny little doggie.

That camera is awfully close to my face, Mommy....

Thank you for backing up a little bit. You were in my bubble.

We spent Sunday night at Grandma Wynne and Grandpa Al's house because Mommy and Daddy spent Sunday afternoon shopping. First we bought me a new car seat because I am too big for the one Mommy and Daddy bought to bring me home in from the hospital. Then Mommy went with Daddy and Grandpa Al to buy some stuff for Jenna's wedding (we could build a small house with all the bricks of cream cheese we have in our refrigerator). Then Daddy went to look at minivans with Grandpa Al. We have Grandpa Al's white van now - he traded it to us for Mommy's car, which he is going to trade in for a new van. It's all very complicated.

This is so much easier when you guys let me do it myself.

That was it for the week. Take care, everyone!
