Mother's Day Week

2011-05-09

I had a busy week.

On Tuesday Daddy helped me buy some flowers for Mommy. I thought it would be better to get them early, so Mommy could enjoy them all week. Mommy sure was surprised when we walked into her office.

After I delivered the flowers, Mommy and Daddy took me to Baby Connections to see how much I weigh now. Seventeen pounds. Daddy thought it would be more.

Daddy dropped Mommy off at work and we went home to walk Duke before going to a retirement party for one of Daddy's co-workers.

Happy retirement, Kathy!

This is Luena - Daddy took over her job when she retired last year.

Me with Luena and Bill, who retired a few years ago.

This is Tom - he's the big boss where Daddy works.

Me with another Kathy - she's not retiring yet.

On Friday, Auntie Kara came to visit in the morning.

Me and Kara.

Napping with Duke.

Grandma Gail and Great-grandma Muriel came over Friday afternoon and left with Mommy and Kara to go have some fun without me. I stayed home with Daddy and Duke and slept all night in my crib. That made Daddy happy.

On Saturday we got ready to go visit Grandpa Al and Grandma Wynne for the weekend. Before we could go, me and Dad had to go get our box of food from the Farmer's Market. Daddy thought he would dress me up as a farmer for the occasion.

All dressed up with somewhere to go.

At the Farmer's Market.

Even though I slept all night, I was still tired, so I slept all the way to Rochester, even though Daddy was singing and talking to Duke.

When we got to Grandma Wynne's, her neighbor Jessica rushed right over to see me.

Me with Jessica. She loves babies!

We stayed at Grandma's Wynne's for a little while, and Great-grandma Darlene and Great-aunt Jennifer came over with Max. We sat outside because the weather was nice for a change - this spring has been so cold and wet.

Sitting on the deck with Grandpa Al, squinting in the sunlight. Why didn't I bring my sunglasses?

In the afternoon, Daddy took me over to Great-grandma Dorothy's house to meet some new people. I got passed around a lot, but I ended up back with Dad when I filled up my diaper.

Great-uncle Dan.

Cousin Katie.

Great-uncle John.

Cousin Chris and Great-aunt Debbie. Chris didn't want to hold me, so we had to sneak in front of him for a picture.

Great-grandma Dorothy had a cold, so we sat and talked like this instead of having her hold me.

Back at Grandma Wynne and Grandpa Al's house...

We got Max to sit still long enough to take a picture with me and Jennifer.

Great-grandma Darlene bounced me on her knee - that was fun!

I slept all night Saturday after all the excitement. I needed to rest up for Sunday.

On Sunday I met more new people, and I went out for lunch with Mommy, Kara, Grandma Gail, and Great-grandma Muriel.

Here I am, asleep during the day with Grandma Gail.

Mommy woke me up so I pulled her hair.

Auntie Kara didn't let me get close enough to grab her hair.

Me with Great-grandma Muriel.

Here we all are - except Kara, who was taking the picture.

After lunch we went back to Grandpa Al and Grandma Wynne's.

Rhonda, me, Stevanna, and Vincent. Kayla is in the background - she is Vincent's mom.

Me with Great-aunt Jeanne. Looking at the floor was relaxing. Jeanne was the third person to try to get me to stop fussing - this actually worked. All mommies have their tricks, I guess.

Diaper change!

Me and Mommy wearing fun hats.

We were all getting sleepy late Sunday afternoon, so we went home with Duke, all packed into Daddy's little car.

Next week should busy again - we are going to the big city for Mommy and Daddy's anniversary! Maybe we'll have some fun pictures from karaoke at Auntie Kara and Uncle Josh's house....

Have a good week everybody!
