Happy Halloween!

2024-11-03

This week was a little more normal. We did school, we did Recess at the park, I finished a really good book called Eagle Drums by Nasugraq Rainey Hospon and started one of Mom's favorites, From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsberg, which I already really like. We also had a little adventure on the weekend, but that was all fun. So let's get started.

David and Grandpa came over on Monday. While they were at the house, Mom wanted a picture to show how tall I am getting. David and Grandpa are wearing shoes, I'm not.

As you can see from the last picture, it was definitely time for a haircut. So we went for one - and Beans was there!

Beans was under the chair a lot of the time I was there.

Bye, little guy. See you next time!

No trick-or-treat for me this year. I had already decided not to, but with the wind and the rain and the cold, it would not have been much fun, anyway. We did make some Halloween cupcakes, though. We took some to GG and Grandpa Kevin, and to Grandma Wynne, Grandpa Al, and Uncle Neil.

Also, to celebrate Halloween, we watched E.T. the Extra-terrestrial on Friday night. It was great!

All week long Mom's laptop was failing. It had stopped holding any charge long ago, but now it was turning off even when it was plugged in, running really slowly, or not responding at all. It was time to get something new. Saturday morning we hopped in the car and drove to the Apple Store, violating the family rule of not going to the mall on a Saturday. Thankfully, Apple had just upgraded their line up and dropped their prices, so hesitating on this decision last week ended up saving us about $300. And it wasn't too busy. We were in and out of the Apple Store in about 20 minutes.

Of course, you probably know what is right around the corner from the Apple Store...the LEGO Store! Had to make a stop at the Pick-A-Brick wall. We made a few boxes.

The guy next to Dad asked one of the workers if they had any masonry bricks, and they brought out a full box of them just for us!

Mom making sure there will be no empty space in the boxes.

Mom spotted some pickle pizza from Slice in the food court - and it was delicious! She even ate it without the clip!

Mom let Dad open the box when we got home.

We listened to Animal Farm by George Orwell in the car on the way up and back. It was such a good book. And a little timely, with this election coming up.

Back home, Mom worked on setting up the computer, and Dad and I watched UHF, one of Dad and Neil's favorite movies when they were kids. We laughed a lot.

Mom and Dad went to vote and run some errands on Sunday morning. I stayed home and played with my Axis and Allies game.

Looking forward to voting and putting this election behind us!

This is how I spent most of my Sunday.

Mom made some of my favorites for supper, and we watched You've Got Mail, which I really liked. I guess Mom and Dad do have good taste in movies.

In addition to the movies mentioned above, we also watched some episodes of The Office, and the new episodes of Ghosts that have started airing.

And that was my week. Take care!
