The Thirteenth Day of Christmas

This week at home the weather was terrible. We had regular rain and freezing rain, which covered everything in slush. Dad had "fun" moving it off the driveway and sidewalk as much as he could, but it was a mess.

Mom and I did not do recess this week due to the weather. We did math and science and I watched a lot of history videos. My favorite were about Charles I, Charles II, and the Glorious Revolution in England.

Dad and I finished watching the Fast and the Furious movies, and we finished reading the first Magnus Chase book.

Mom baked some treats again on Friday, because on Saturday we had another Christmas celebration to go to. We were originally going to Nancy's house back in December, but Great-grandpa Eldon's funeral was on the same day, so this Christmas party got rescheduled. We borrowed Grandma Wynne and Grandpa Al's van, picked up GG, and drove to Nancy's. The sun was shining and the roads were clear - so much better than our other recent trips.

We stopped to check out a big cow on the way - even though it was 8 below zero.

We had a long drive home and got to the house past my bedtime. I was really tired. Mom and Dad said I sounded like I was drunk (obviously, I wasn't).

Sunday I worked on building LEGO. I built Boba Fett's helmet, Mando's N-1 Starfighter, the Astin Martin DB5 I got in the White Elephant exchange, and the Luke Skywalker helmet. Mom heard the motorcycles on the lake when she was trying to take a nap, so we walked down to see them. And there was a very friendly German Shepard there that wanted to play fetch, so we did that while we waited for the guys to start racing again.
