COVID

2022-07-31

No pictures for this week. On Tuesday I tested positive for COVID. I had a stratchy throat and was feeling less energetic than usual. Mom and Dad knew I was sick because I was quiet and had no appetite.

Our bathroom was getting remodeled starting Wednesday, and Mom and I were planning to go to stay with Grandpa Al and Grandma Wynne for a few days, and then go visit Freya for a day or two before we started housesitting for them. But that had to change. In the end, we stayed in a hotel to be out of our house (which did not have a bathroom for a couple days and was full of plumbers, electricians, and tilers), and to keep others healthy by staying out of their houses.

Mom tested positive on Thursday and started on Paxlovid right away. She was a lot sicker than I was, too.

Dad drove us up to Freya's house on Saturday. We are staying there while they are at a family reunion - which worked out really well since we needed to quarantine and could not be at our house.

Dad did not get sick. He stayed at the house to keep an eye on the work being done.

And that was my week. Two and a half years of being careful only to get sick during the one time where being home was not possible.

Take care! And I mean that. Mom and I are proof that COVID has not gone away.
