This week we had two kinds of goodbyes. The first was because Uncle Bob had his retirement auction and sold all the machinery from the farm.
The second, and sadder, goodbye, was for Great-grandma Darlene, who passed away on Sunday. We put up some pictures of her that you can see here.
But starting at the beginning of the week: the construction crew finally showed up to work on our street - but they started at the wrong end! But that's good, because now I will be home when they are working in front of my house.
Digging up the street.
Very excited to watch the excavator working.
Indy was more interested in the grass than the machines.
Daddy being silly and pretending Indy is a human baby.
On Wednesday Grandpa Al drove over to our house and we headed up to Bob's for the farm retirement auction. Mommy stayed home with Indy.
On the road to the farm - we got Culver's!
We stopped at the auction site first, just to look a little bit.
So many tractors!
And so many trucks!
Thursday we spent the whole day at the auction - from about 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM. I had a hard time saying goodbye to my favorite trucks. But my friend Trevor bought a tractor, the harrow, and one of the combines, so I will still get to see them when we come up next time.
This one is my favorite.
Some of the auction crowd.
I got to ride in the combine with Trevor when he drove it over to park it in the big shed.
Friday we went to the John Deere dealership and I got two new tractors - a 9470 RX and an 8630. We also went out to the old farm place and looked around. And we talked to Bob as he was going in and out of the house wrapping up farm business and helping people load out what they bought at the auction.
My new favorite truck - since Bob and Jim are keeping this one.
Saturday morning we said goodbye to Bob and headed back home. It was a long day in the car again, but there was lots to see (once my iPad battery was empty). And we stopped at Culver's again!
Back home, Indy was happy to see us - but Mommy was happier, because now Indy had someone else to chew on and there was someone else to clean up all the messes he was making in the house.
Indy follwed me around for a while.
I missed my pup!
Sunday we stayed home and out of the heat. All the storms that hit the state missed us - we barely got any rain. We had a good day, except for the sad news about Great-grandma Darlene.
And that was my week. Take care!
