Farm-Freya-Fair

2019-08-25

This was a busy week. We started on the farm - Daddy was helping Bob by driving trucks and tractors, and Grandpa Al was helping Daddy by keeping an eye on me. I rode with Daddy in the trucks, with Kenny in the grain cart tractor, with Jim in combine number 1, and with Trevor in combine number 2. That was mostly what I did for four days. We helped get over half of Bob's wheat harvested. And this was our last trip to help Bob, because he will be retiring after he finishes getting the crops in this year.

Climbing up into the combine.

Time to switch machines.

In the grain cart tractor with Kenny.

Sunset in the field.

Starting a new field.

Getting to the end of the day.

One last look at the farm before we went south.

After we said goodbye to everyone on the farm, we headed south to go to Freya's birthday party and the State Fair. Since we were driving by anyway, we stopped to see Great-grandpa Les and Great-grandma Muriel.

Saturday afternoon Freya had her birthday party at the zoo! We got to hang out with some llamas before it was time for cake.

After the party we went back to Freya's for pizza and a prize ball! That was a lot of fun and Freya's Grandpa Tom and Grandma Karen were there, along with GG.

Sunday morning we went to the State Fair bright and early, but there were a lot more people there at opening than there have been in other years. We went first to look at machinery, and then everyone else joined us a little later.

Starting the Fair with a waffle.

Milking a fake cow.

Checking out the old tractors - this one is a 1010.

Checking out the Army vehicles. I talked to real soldiers!

T.C. was at the Fair!

Going on a boat ride with Freya, Nancy, and GG.

Playing games...

Even more games....

Michael is excited to be at the Fair!

Me and Nancy when it was time to say goodbye for the day.

After we said goodbye to everyone, Dad and I walked through the animal barns while Mommy looked around at other things. There were so many people it was hard to move, so we decided to head for home.

And that was my very full week and my last big adventures for the summer. Until next time, take care!
