At the Lake

2011-07-06

Most of the week was quiet - basically all I did was eat and sleep and go with Dad and Duke for walks around the neighborhood. On Tuesday Mom and Dad took me to the clinic to see how much weigh: 21.5 pounds.

On Saturday we went west to visit family for the weekend. I saw Grandma Wynne for a few minutes when we dropped Duke off at her house, and then we went to see Great-grandma Muriel, Great-grandpa Les, Grandma Gail, and Grandpa Kevin. I slept most of the way, but we did have to stop for me to eat. Dad sat on the grass in the shade at a gas station and fed me.

With all the people around, I didn't want to go to bed once we got to the Great-grandparent's house. Dad decided to teach me how to play Hand and Foot.

Let me get this straight - I need four of a kind and three wilds for a black book and seven of a kind for a red book?

On Sunday we went out to the lake in the morning. Uncle Ross was there getting things ready for everybody coming over on the Fourth of July.

Me with Uncle Ross.

What is that thing? It's so...shiny....

We took some pictures in front of the tree that was planted in memory of Grandpa Joe.

That Winnie-the-Pooh, he follows me everywhere. Silly old bear.

Me with Auntie Kara and Uncle Josh.

We also spent a lot of time relaxing.

I could get used to this.

I'm practicing holding my breath in case Daddy lets me go swimming.

No swimming - just sitting in the hammock with Daddy.

Later in the afternoon, the other new babies came out to play.

This is Lila being held by her aunt Brittany - Lila was just born two weeks ago.

Liza was excited to see me.

Me and Jacob with Ross (he's Jacob's grandpa).

This is a rare picture of Sydney not in the water.

Back at Great-grandma and Great-grandma's house I was happy to pose for pictures because I didn't want to go to bed.

Daddy spent most of three hours trying to get me to go to sleep - but I wanted to stay up and have fun with everybody.

The next morning was the Fourth of July, and Daddy kept me at the house while Mommy and Auntie Kara went to the lake. Daddy was hoping if I got some sleep in the morning I would sleep better at night.

Grandma Gail and Daddy worked really hard to get me to sleep - and it worked. I felt better after my nap, and then we went to the lake for a few hours.

randma Gail keeping watch so none of the little puppies came and woke me up with a cold nose or a wet tongue.

Don't I look peaceful?

After lunch, Daddy took me to the lake. I got passed around a lot that afternoon. So did the other babies.

Me with Cindy.

Going for a golf cart ride with Mommy and Jane.

Hanging out with John and Matthew and Mommy.

Me with Leticia, who is Lila's mommy.

Me with Lila's daddy Andy and Leticia.

Andy let me play with his phone.

Jacob and I had fun playing together in the shade.

Look Jacob! There's that Pooh Bear again!

Here is the 2011 crop of babies, from biggest to smallest (that's me on the left).

Left to right: Henry, Jacob Lila.

That looks kinda like one of my bottles.... It's mostly the right color, anyway.

Me with Great-grandpa Eldon.

In the hammock with Dad again.

In the grass. You can't see it, but I'm naked right now.

Auntie Kara took this picture after I went home for the night, but I told Dad I would put it in here anyway. I didn't get to see the fireworks at the lake, but that also means I didn't get any mosquito bites. Mommy and Daddy have been itchy since that night.

On Tuesday morning we stopped to see where Grandpa Joe is resting before going home.

I had lots of fun visiting with everyone this week, but Mommy and Daddy are happy to have me home so I sleep on a more regular schedule.

Sorry the blog was so late this week - I needed to recover from all the fun. Next week is Mommy's birthday and I'll be staying with Grandma Wynne and Grandpa Al.

Take care everyone!
